Martha Trice Music Studios

Policy 2020

Due to Covid 19 most of our lessons were on Zoom from March-May. We were also unable to have our April Spring Recital. As we get back to whatever "normal" is we have resumed lessons in our home while still providing the option of online lessons for guitar. We have hand sanitizer available for our students and wipe down the piano and chairs with sanitizer before and after each lesson.

Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child music for the up coming year! We try to make it a positive and fun learning experience.

We will have 2 recitals each year to showcase our student's talent and hard work: A Christmas recital in December and a Spring recital in April.

Payment: Invoices are sent automatically 5 days before the due date, which is the first day of the month. For your convenience, there are several options for payment:

Our online platform, My Music Staff allows you make secure online payments

 1) You can set up auto-draft credit card payments.

2) or manually from the link that is provided on the invoice.

3) check or cash (providing that you pay that way on time)

When you open your invoice just click “pay your invoice online”. You will be directed to PayPal for secure payment.

Lessons are based on 4 lessons per month. It is a FLAT FEE. If there are 5 lessons in the month you will not pay more. If there are 3 or even 2 you will not pay less. This may be the case in November or December.

Please make your lesson times a priority. If you give 24 hour notice of a missed lesson you are eligible for a make-up lesson. We will do our best to schedule what make-ups we can.  Keep in mind early notice is a courtesy for us.

Time off: We will take a 2 week break at Christmas beginning Dec. 20 th        . Lessons will resume Jan. 2 nd        .  In the event that you have an extended vacation planned, you are allowed to miss 2 lessons per year for your family vacation time, without paying for the missed lessons. These time-off lessons can be used anytime within the year. During the summer you will be expected to resume lessons in order to keep your time slot for the fall of the next year. Anyone not resuming lessons in the summer will go on the waiting list for lessons in the fall.

In the case of discontinuing lessons we require 30 days notice with payment for that month.

Because we depend on this income as a salary for services, if you are unable to have lessons for one month during the 11 month school year – you are expected to pay for that month. Please call if this is the case – so we can make some arrangements suitable for both of us.

Here are some tips for having a great lesson:

Young children should have a snack before their lesson if needed. Many times they are tired at the end of their school day.

Lessons are more effective if the student does not have more than 1 or 2 extra- curricular activities. They must have time to practice in their schedule.

Have your child practice within 24 hours after their lesson to reinforce what they have learned. If they wait days after the lesson before they practice, it can look like Greek to them!

Encourage them. We try very hard to make lessons a fun, positive experience. We all know how an encouraging word from a family member really builds the self-esteem.
